I was worried about the straps rubbing on my daughter's shoulders, but the covers that come with this set are soft and stay put. The lamb insert keeps her head from flopping around on longer drives too.
The insert cradles my newborn snugly enough that she stays settled through the whole ride, and the strap covers are thick where they matter most. I’ve done three grocery trips already and no red marks on her cheeks or fussing at the buckle.
Our little one fusses way less getting buckled in now that the strap covers keep the harness from rubbing against her neck. The newborn insert gives her that snug, secure feeling without swallowing her whole, and it stays put even on bumpy roads.
